Old main road and livestock route
The old main road and livestock route running through the town of Campdevànol allows us to get out into the natural surroundings, whether on foot or by bike, and leads us easily to the site of the popular Sant Eudald natural spring, to the Querol Natural Spring Recreation Area, an area of great natural beauty, and to the Romanesque Sant Llorenç de Campdevànol church. A good part of the route runs parallel to the River Merdàs, where you will see typical riverside vegetation, with alder groves, and some black poplar and maple trees, lining the route. There are also stretches of still water where plant life typical of marshes and reservoirs grows, such as bulrushes and other rushes. And if you look hard enough you might even get to see some fish, including the Mediterranean Barbel.
